This is what my friend said. They said Delico’s singing was so bad they couldn’t stand listening to it, but I think GARNET CROW sings even worse. What do you all think?

I don’t know what makes for good singing, but I like Delico too, and I like GARNET CROW even more. So just exclude that friend and ignore them.

Delico’s voice is grating and annoying.

Six single CDs and one album in seven months, yet their profile is still so low. That’s simply because nobody needs GARNET CROW’s kind of music. They’re an assembled group of studio musicians, so the songs are polished well enough and there’s nothing obvious to criticize. But they’re merely pleasant to listen to. They can only hook anime otaku who aren’t used to listening to music, which makes them a pathetic band.

I’m not an anime otaku, but I like GARNET CROW. That’s just prejudice, >>27.

What’s interesting is that nobody is talking about GARNET CROW’s lyrics or melodies. Let me throw out a topic for once. Their lyrics are really terrible, right? Suddenly someone sings about calling for pizza when they’re hungry... It’s neither relatable nor funny. It isn’t worth turning into a song and presenting to everyone.

After the Conan best-of, is it Aiuchi and GARNET CROW next? Both are obviously aimed at anime otaku. How funny.

GARNET CROW’s voice sounds a lot like Mai Kuraki. Come to think of it, a lot of artists under the GIZA umbrella seem to have similar voices. Soul Crusaders and Miho Komatsu are like that too. I quite like the voice, but I wish the singing ability were a little better. I’m already tired of Delico. Their voice is a little grating.

Do anime otaku really listen to ordinary songs that merely happen to be used as anime tie-ins? I thought they only listened to songs that were obviously made specifically for anime. As long as a song has been used in an anime, is anything acceptable? (Laughs.)

I’m not particularly interested in GARNET CROW, but whenever I hear them, they seem familiar. There’s one song that is exactly the same as Suzanne Vega’s “Luka.”

Are people who listen to GARNET CROW otaku men...? I started liking them because of Conan. Still, it’s surprising to be called an otaku. I mainly listen to melancholy lyric-driven music by L⇔R and the Kurosawa Brothers, but I also listen to energetic, upbeat music, like Megumi Hayashibara and Mari. Anyway, GARNET CROW sings well. As an unsolicited reminder, voice-actor songs at the level of Megumi Ogata are quite good. If currently popular artists debuted as voice actors, would they sell just as well? They definitely wouldn’t sell: “Aren’t they just otaku idols? Trash.” And that would be the end of it. Ultimately, the public’s ears judge music according to its marketing. Before listening to a song, people have already decided to some extent whether it is good or bad. Good things are good things. Preconceptions prevent you from recognizing quality. Don’t just listen to songs by Hekiru or Horie and assume you understand all voice-actor music. Learn something!
