Strongly agreed! First of all, *MAR* is a dark period. To put it positively, they gained the flexibility to adapt to commercial music, but lately there have been more childish-worldview songs (the c/w tracks are good, though). Nana has also started deliberately choosing simpler words, but please limit that to singles. The arrangements and guitar solos have become more fast-paced, but I feel they have lost depth. This is clearly because of *MAR*. Accepting a tie-in company's requests and presenting a worldview within those limits is fine, but the “restrictions on the work by the staff” Nana mentioned in the newsletter make me angry. I also dislike the author of *MAR*—it is a degraded copy of *Yu Yu Hakusho* made by the person who created *Rekka no Honō*—so I hope the *MAR* tie-in ends with “Eden.” If strange corporate demands lower GC's quality and they lose the core audience built over years, it cannot be undone. That said, I will still buy “Eden,” “Maboroshi,” and the fifth album without hesitation. What is wrong with me?

Since they have never included c/w songs before, I do not think they will start now. Remixes have always appeared, so one will probably be included even though I do not want it. The fourth album had nine originals after a sixteen-month gap from the third; the third had seven originals after a nineteen-month gap from the second. This suggests that more singles mean fewer originals and fewer singles mean more originals. GARNET has a large stock of material, so the fifth album may be light on originals. Counting one remix as usual, I predict at most seven original songs.

Average: about 7 weeks. Using the average gives October 25. Historically, the earliest would be September 27 and the latest November 8.

Even if the “we do not include c/w songs” principle really came from the members, do not take it too seriously. Artists have said they would never release a best-of and later reversed themselves several times. Including them on a future album is not impossible. As I said earlier, GIZA has begun leaning commercial with frequent multiple-purchase campaigns. In this atmosphere, we should allow for c/w songs being included, or it will hurt later.

Right, nothing is 100% certain, so I have considered that they might include them. I just like GIZA's non-commercial side, lol.

This is promising (・∀・). The simple arrangement departs from their established form and feels fresh. A grand arrangement would expose the weaknesses of programmed instrumentation, so delicate sound design suits them.

Even so, the overall situation has improved, has it not? Not only Kuraki but GIZA as a whole used to have terrible PVs: one outfit, awful storyboards, and too few locations. “Diamond Wave” is still shabby, though. I could not tell the wave behind her was heart-shaped until the making-of explained it. The background CG also looks technically unfinished and blurry.

People say Kuraki's PVs are bad, but as someone who likes the big boss, I envy her having a complete PV at all. CG or whatever—I just want to see the big boss moving normally in a PV.

Since Gane does not put c/w songs on original albums, an album of roughly thirteen tracks should not be entirely released songs. Saegusa's third album already has almost ten singles plus “Shiroi Maboroshi” and “Sora Tobu…,” so hers is more dangerous. They may advertise it as “six singles and two self-covers, practically a best album.”

“Eden” is all about the key change and semitone rise; the vocal that unfolds there is wonderful. I had already heard it for a while, and the rhythm from the opening into the catchy chorus is still excellent, though the programmed drums remain disappointing and become tiring after many listens. “Ushinawareta Monogatari” has a beautiful ballad melody and restrained interlude, not dark but strongly Gane-like; each phrase sits well with the singer's deep voice in the chorus. It may be the best of the three. “nonsense” develops as expected: bright, with a driving rhythmic sound carried over from the previous c/w. The melody and atmosphere are good, but the lyrics are overstuffed, do not connect well to the melody, and interfere with the lead vocal and musical flow. The English section is smooth, though a Gane song like this needs AZUKI's distinctive originality.

At this point I cannot even explain what “programmed instrumentation” means.
