Can honest feelings be honestly conveyed?

唐突(とうとつ)な青空(あおぞら) 遠(とお)ざかる飛行機(ひこうき)

The suddenly clearing blue sky, a plane disappearing in the distance

もしも私(わたし)が物語(ものがたり)を書(か)いたら

If I wrote a story

あなたに委(ゆだ)ねて自由(じゆう)に絵(え)を描(えが)いて欲(ほ)しい

I'd want to give it to you, so you could draw the pictures freely

交(か)わすはずだった言葉(ことば)が踊(おど)るキラキラリ

The words we should have exchanged leap and shine

集(あつ)めた花(はな)びら庭(にわ)に咲(さ)く花(はな) フラフラリ

Collected petals, flowers blooming in the garden, swaying gently

大好(だいす)きな想(おも)いはちょっとづつ変(か)わるの？

Will that deep affection change little by little, too?

金色(きんいろ)に忍(しの)び寄(よ)る宵闇(よいやみ)を描(えが)いた

I draw the dusk quietly approaching gold

旅(たび)にでるのは何(なに)かを忘(わす)れるため？

Did I set out on a journey to forget something?

何(なに)かを見(み)つけるためかな？ただ流(なが)れるの？

Or to find something? Or simply to drift along?

ふれるはずだった温(ぬく)もりさえもハラハラリ

Even the warmth I should have touched is falling away

ページごとにそっと零(こぼ)れ落(お)ちそうぎゅっと掴(つか)んでいたい

As if it might spill quietly from every page, I want to hold it tight

面影(おもかげ)が泣(な)かないように星空(ほしぞら)に見守(みまも)らせて

Let the starry sky watch over us; don't let the figure in my memory cry
