GARNET CROW's *word scope in M.F.M* (Vol.18)

The first concert DVD, *GARNET CROW first live scope and document movie*, will be released on February 26! And, beginning February 14, they will finally appear alongside Mai Kuraki, Rina Aiuchi, and others at the “GIZA studio Valentine's Concert”! The members remain as busy as ever. This time Hitoshi Okamoto joins us (Okamoto also appears in “Player's rhapsody” on p. 43!).

Although the calendar says spring has begun, the weather is still just as cold. How has everyone been lately? Hello, this is Okamoto.

Before I knew it, February was already here. January has gone, and from here on February will flee and March will be gone too. Speaking of the cold, I came down with one minor cold after another last year, but I have been doing all right since the new year began. Last year's cold weather was rather erratic, but I also have to admit that I was not taking very good care of myself.

There is something else. Recently I have become extremely hard to wake up—or rather, I have become a habitual snoozer. In the past, when I used an alarm clock with a snooze function (the kind that rings again about every five minutes after you turn it off), I would think, “Just five more minutes,” then, “Actually, five more minutes,” and enjoy about half an hour of happiness every morning before finally getting up. Even then, the symptoms were fairly mild. Now I use two loud bell alarm clocks, as well as my phone, television, and stereo! Naturally, I set them to go off at different times.

But even setting all of those takes quite a bit of effort. At first, I could turn every one of them off, without missing a single one, while still completely unconscious. But even that is no longer possible. These days I simply ignore them and let everything ring at once. Bang bang, beep beep, ding ding ding! That is what it sounds like.

Exactly! By the time I wake up, my room has become... something like an electronics store! I really am a terrible nuisance to the neighbors. Yes. The things that can wake me from this state are someone calling to tell me that I am late, the stereo finishing a CD and switching to the radio, or realizing that the host of a television program has changed at some point and that a long time has passed—at which point I finally jump out of bed in a panic.

In other words, I should get up if I am reminded frequently and forcefully of what time it is now. Does anyone have a good solution? Although if the neighbors complain and I get kicked out of this apartment, perhaps that would cure me in one go.

The first concert DVD, *GARNET CROW first live scope and document movie*, is now on sale! The “GIZA studio Valentine's Concert” has also ended successfully, so perhaps everyone is finally breathing a sigh of relief? This time AZUKI joins us.

Lately I have often been eating carrots. If you put the leftover tops in water, beautiful leaves keep growing, and it is very soothing to watch. I put colored glass in glass cups and arrange several of them by the window. When I look over in the morning, I can see that they have grown a little more each day, and it makes me feel the force of life.

Sometimes I also grow cherry radishes and green onions. Whenever I feel that vitality first thing in the morning, as if they were saying, “All right! I am going to start growing now!” I inexplicably develop quite an appetite. These are not grown for decoration—I eat them with a satisfying crunch. They are delicious.

Sometimes I stay in Tokyo a little longer than usual and forget to water them, or miss the right time to eat them, and they begin to spread limply in every direction like dandelion leaves. It makes me a little sad to see. I wish spring would hurry up and arrive...
