“GARNET CROW Are You Ready To Lock On!?
～livescope at the JCB Hall～” 2009.5.20 On Sale !!

The DVD of last August’s hugely successful live tour [GARNET CROW livescope 2008 ～Are you ready to lock on?!～] will be released on May 20. This release contains footage from the performance at JCB Hall. Reflecting the “movement” of the latest album *Locks*, the members consciously incorporated danceable sections and made the stage something to “watch,” resulting in a video work that offers a fresh kind of experience unlike a usual GARNET CROW live.

The opening number “最後の離島” pulls you straight into their sonic world, followed by “夏の幻,” where you can clearly see Yuri Nakamura’s happy expression as she sings while watching the audience clap along to the refreshing sound. After “Call my name,” with its highlight guitar solo by Hitoshi Okamoto, and “水のない晴れた海へ,” featuring AZUKI Nana’s dignified piano solo, draw the audience in with a strong band sound, the flow reaches the key moment of the first half: “wish★” instantly turns the venue into a dance floor. The familiar break time from their lives is also included in full. First comes an acoustic section by Okamoto, where a special version of “忘れ咲き” is performed with Hirohito Furui joining on acoustic guitar and chorus. During the second break, “Mr. Holiday,” GARNET CROW’s first song with choreography, appears and the sense of unity in the venue grows even stronger. You should also be able to see the audience’s dances, which even the members found spectacular. Other numbers follow that let you experience their “quiet” side, including “Holy ground,” with the audience covered in pink penlights creating a fantastical space, and “夢みたあとで,” performed with strings. The main set then reaches its finale, “今宵エデンの片隅で,” with the audience still heated up. From the footage of all 25 songs, including the encore, captured on this two-disc DVD, you can feel both the members’ desire to preserve each song’s world and deliver it in the best possible form, and the presence of an audience that receives their strong feelings toward GARNET CROW’s music. This is a release that makes you look forward to seeing what stages this group, having established a new live style, will show us next.
