GARNET CROW, who released their new album 『STAY ~Yoake no Soul~』 on September 30, held a fan club event. Along with talking about the new album, they entertained the audience with a lively Q&A and prize drawing. In the live section, they performed songs from the new album for the first time and filled the venue with their singing as applause broke out all around.

New Album 『STAY ~Yoake no Soul~』
Release Event

On October 3, as autumn began to deepen, GARNET CROW held their first free live performance at Lazona Kawasaki. About 5,000 people gathered for this event celebrating the release of the new album 『STAY ~Yoake no Soul~』. The light rain had eased before the show began, and as anticipation filled the audience, Yuri Nakamura and Hitoshi Okamoto appeared to applause from the crowd. After Nakamura declared, “Nice to meet you, we’re GARNET CROW!”, they performed their signature song “Yume mita ato de.” The special arrangement, with Okamoto playing acoustic guitar and Nakamura accompanying herself on keyboard, drew the audience’s eager attention. When Nakamura’s clear, dignified voice resounded all the way to the second and third floors, the venue was instantly enveloped in their musical world.

They then performed two songs from the new album 『STAY ~Yoake no Soul~』. In “Hana wa Saite Tada Yurete,” the coexistence of fragility and strength held the audience spellbound with the unique atmosphere created by Nakamura’s powerful vocals and Okamoto’s guitar blowing through like a breeze. In “Stay,” Nakamura sang freely in her own style while Okamoto played with an apparent joy, allowing everyone to feel the song’s heat directly even as they were soothed by their expressions. Nakamura, who had looked nervous at first, began smiling as the live performance progressed. During the instrumental break of “Stay,” she hurried from center stage to the keyboard to play a phrase, creating an endearing moment. Since this was the day after the opening show of their live tour in Nagoya, Nakamura also offered an encouraging comment: “Today it’s just the two of us, but on tour the stage will be four times as cool…”

The live performance reached its finale in no time. The closing song of the main set was their debut single, “Mysterious Eyes.” The venue erupted in cheers as soon as the title was announced, and clapping began the moment they started playing. Singing while keeping the rhythm on a tambourine, Nakamura looked around the venue as if savoring the feeling of the day’s performance. After the pair left the stage to tremendous applause, an encore call arose immediately, and they returned with the live staple “Koyoi Eden no Katasumi de.” The song had been added on the spur of the moment after they saw the audience already waiting during the pre-show rehearsal, and the thoughtful surprise naturally sent the venue into an uproar. Nakamura moved around the stage and urged the audience on to the brisk rhythm, and the clapping grew louder in response. The call-and-response during the song landed perfectly, and the live performance ended with the entire venue united.

They finished with a commemorative photograph taken with the audience behind them. The pair’s cheerful expressions made it clear how much they had enjoyed the event. Afterwards came a session in which Nakamura handed original postcards to people who had purchased the album. Nakamura and Okamoto appeared on the platform, creating a precious opportunity to meet their fans face to face.

Only the November 24 and 25 shows at Akasaka BLITZ remained on the tour, but their momentum was only accelerating, with their first countdown live at the end of the year and a tenth-anniversary tour already scheduled for the following year.
