On-tama OTODAMA SNOW STUDIO 2011–2012 [From the Snowy Mountains to the First Spring Wind]

The “On-tama OTODAMA SEA STUDIO,” which had hosted numerous musicians at live shows on Kanagawa Prefecture’s Zushi Beach as a live house where people could fully enjoy summer, opened an “On-tama OTODAMA SNOW STUDIO” this winter inside the facilities of Kandatsu Kogen Ski Resort in Niigata Prefecture. GARNET CROW (Yuri Nakamura and Hitoshi Okamoto) appeared at the live event held on March 31 and performed five songs. Although the concert had a relaxed atmosphere, it used an acoustic style that conveyed each song clearly. Fans were especially pleased by the appearance of “Float World,” a popular song that had never previously been performed live.

On-tama OTODAMA SEA STUDIO 2012 [CAN YOU "SEA" THE MUSIC?!]

2012.7.28 (SAT) @ Zushi Beach, Kanagawa Prefecture

Following the previous summer, Yuri Nakamura and Hitoshi Okamoto of GARNET CROW appeared at the scorching seaside live house [On-tama OTODAMA SEA STUDIO 2012]. Among a stellar lineup including Kosuke Atari, Anna Tsuchiya, nokko, and the opening acts Yumemi Ikeda and rieco, the pair took the stage as the first main act after the opening performances. They began with “JUDY,” a popular album track performed as a piano-and-vocal piece by Nakamura. Next came the surprise first performance of the new song “Nostalgia,” due for release on September 26! It was presented in an acoustic version that day, and Okamoto described the finished recording as “pop, bittersweet, and electro.” Their casual conversation ranged over the Olympics, fireworks festivals, the new song’s music video, and the event T-shirt, and they also performed three songs perfectly suited to summer. Although their set was short, its rich content delighted the many fans who had come to see them and made for an enjoyable summer moment. （TEXT BY KAREN HAYAMA）
