The weather suddenly turned cold—have you all been keeping well?
I managed to hold out with medicine at the last moment,
but we still have our countdown live later this year, so I feel I cannot let my guard down until the very end...

It has been about four months, I suppose.
Is it just my imagination that my timing always coincides with a release?
In any case, I would like to introduce the album a little once again.

The songs on this album, *Memories*, were selected with the aim of creating content that both those who have listened to GARNET CROW for years and those hearing us for the first time through this album can enjoy easily.
I am sure there have been songs you liked in every era.
As ten or twenty years pass, have you ever happened to hear one of those songs and found memories and images from that time coming back to you,
leaving you feeling as though you had slipped through time?
The title *Memories* also carries the wish that this album might become such a precious record for all of you in the years ahead...

The contents are varied, opening up a free-ranging GARNET CROW world that crosses genres and generations.
The lyrics, too, stay with you and make you think,
while the album keeps you in suspense and anticipation right to the end.
I will not provide detailed explanations, but I hope you will feel it freely and enjoy it freely.
Our production style has clearly divided roles, so we cannot move on to the next stage until one person has finished their work.
This album is handmade in that sense, and I sincerely hope you will come to love it.

There are still year-end parties and Christmas ahead, so I am sure you will all have plenty to keep you busy,
but please take good care of your health. If you have the time,
why not welcome the New Year with us at the countdown live!! (laughs)

The cold has been especially severe lately. How have you all been?
This is Hitoshi Okamoto.
In the end, winter turned sharply cold this year, didn't it?
It feels as though the maximum-strength winter clothes arrived before my autumn clothes had a chance to do much of anything!?

Meanwhile, GARNET CROW is hard at work rehearsing for our year-end countdown live.
(Written at the end of December 2011.)

I am truly grateful that we have been able to hold our third consecutive countdown live, for the third time!
There is a different kind of tension from an ordinary live show or tour,
the sense of accomplishment when the New Year arrives and the schedule finally releases you,
and by the final stage, the feeling that your head is starting to go fuzzy.
I am looking forward to this one as well.
By the third time, I have gradually learned how to spend the end of the year better in preparation for this New Year's Eve live.

・Shift to a slightly more nocturnal routine.
・It is better to skip year-end parties that might turn into wild celebrations.
・Send New Year's cards at your own pace.
・A major housecleaning is out of the question.

At this especially busy time of year, and in this freezing, dry season,
I do not understand the point of fighting static electricity and dust while cleaning.
“Get this year's dirt out before the year ends”?
It is more sensible to clean slowly and carefully in a more comfortable season.
Your home would surely appreciate that too.

・And get vaccinated.

Learning from the fact that I caught influenza at the beginning of this year, I got my vaccine early.
Spraying germs all over the stage right after the New Year would not be good (laughs).

So, with each member making what is hopefully a complete!? set of preparations, we will take the stage.
We also have a tour in early spring 2012, so I am leaving the switch firmly set to live mode.

The album will be selected from all the coupling songs released between the debut single “Mysterious Eyes” and the latest single “Misty Mystery,” based on requests from our fans.
