Five of their seven singles from #18 to #24 were for it—that's too much. If you have a clear problem with the songs, just tell Gane directly. They're professionals, after all.

In a lot of ways, tying in with the anime is clever, and there aren't many songs these days that sound like they're made specifically as anime openings. It feels like a proper, classic anime theme (like “Getting fired up~ MÄR Hea-ven~”). But I prefer ballads like “Maboroshi” to upbeat opening themes, so having tie-ins one after another feels a bit mixed to me. The album feels almost entirely colored by MÄR, doesn't it?

It's not just that it sounds like an anime opening. GARNET was finished the moment they put the anime's title into the lyrics.

The sharp, shrill vocal delivery in “Kono Te wo Nobaseba” is grating and doesn’t bring out GC’s strengths. The arrangement also has that standard, straightforward band sound. If it had programmed percussion instead of drums, I think it really would be hopeless. I do like the ad-libbed vocal run at the end and the outro. They give me a sense of hope for carrying on.

I saw Yurippe in the GIZA R&B Live footage on YouTube, and she was overwhelmingly beautiful. Kuraki and Aiko look like meatballs next to her. You don’t notice it as much when she’s usually standing next to AZUKI, but she really is pale, slim, and tiny-faced.

Yurippe does stand out even more next to Kuraki and Aiko. But she usually stands next to Nanacchi, so she ends up looking like a country bumpkin.
