I don't know if he's trying to sound cool, but reading Hirohito Furui's column in the fan-club newsletter makes you think he's really impressive. His thoughts and passion for music (?), that sort of thing. I really respect him as a musician.

In that bit where Mochi says, “She didn't want to do the gag she'd come up with herself, so she tossed it over to me,” the way Mochi looks at Yurippe and responds makes it seem like the two of them talk a lot in everyday life. When they first debuted, there were so few photos of all four of them together that it felt like they were just a project. I used to wonder if the four of them even met, and if they did, whether they could actually talk to each other. But as they appeared in public more, the distance between them gradually closed. Still, you can see that the old guy really is a special presence among the members.

Yuri and Mochi are dating, obviously... if you think about it normally. Mr. Furui is married. No idea about Nana.

Something I've been thinking about lately: I wish they'd release an album collecting the B-sides~ And I wish they'd re-release the first album, maybe remastered. It's hard to find.

I heard “Namida no Yesterday” three more times on the wired music system yesterday. I got hooked on the clearly enunciated “tadoriyoseta~♪” in the chorus, “the vanished summer I traced back to me~♪” For some reason, GARNET CROW always makes me think of WANDS and ZARD. It has that feeling of “there were so many good songs in the '90s.”

When they said on *HEY!* that “the members have very contrasting personalities,” which two did they mean? Yurippe and Nana? I also heard that the order was actually reversed for the “Shinkansen” thing about the old guy and the “meticulous” thing about Yurippe. They were supposed to introduce them as Yurippe → the old guy → Mochi, but what about Nana...?

I guess we'll never get another album like their indie-era or first album again. When I first heard the debut album, I was blown away. I've listened to it so much. It was such a rich, substantial album.

There was a song playing over the wired music system at a DAISO store today, and the singer kind of sounded like GARNET CROW's vocalist, so I wanted to ask about it. The chorus started with something like ♪ “...destiny” and ended with ♪ “and when you wake up... only...” Is there a GARNET CROW song with lyrics like that? The style was like an idol-type ballad, kind of gentle but not gloomy. Those are the only lyrics I could make out, so if it's not GARNET, I'll give up looking.

The musical style changed when they were doing tie-in singles for *MÄR*. Maybe they also shifted the atmosphere of the original songs in that direction? “Sagashite” feels like a song they made for *MÄR* that got rejected, lol.

“Hare Tokei” gets lost among all those *MÄR* tie-ins, but if you listen closely, it surprisingly has an early-era feel.

I feel like the first and second albums were neo-acoustic, and the third was an attempt to break away from neo-acoustic. Starting with the fifth, you can trace their assimilation of world music.

Among female Gane fans, it seems like a lot of them like Yurippe. There are Nana fans, too, but it feels like there are more people who like Yurippe. I thought it'd be the other way around.

Here's my honest impression after watching *HEY!×3*. Yurippe looked kind of matronly. She would've looked better without that red thing. Sitting with her legs apart and slouching made her look unyouthful. Azuki didn't seem younger or cuter than she usually looks on TV. She just came across as a plain woman who looked her age. I don't think a first-time viewer would come away thinking Gane were beautiful or cute. I'm sure other people had similar impressions.

The wired music system sometimes plays an oldies channel, and I couldn't make out all the lyrics, so I could only go by the vocalist's voice. I'm so glad I came here. And apparently I can hear them every week on *Conan*... Maybe I should start watching it again after all this time. Thanks so much to everyone who helped me figure it out.

I've been wondering how they update that blog. Nana-san once wrote something like, “I'm in the park right now, sprawled out on some newspaper,” so maybe they can post from their phones or something. And sometimes there are pictures that look like they were taken with a cell phone (like Hiroshi's sign, lol).

I think the members write their entries on a computer or phone and send them to the staff; then the staff actually handle posting them.

*THE TWILIGHT VALLEY* is the best. I especially love that bit that goes “Himawari~ himawari~.” “Let's go find it, oooh~” is the best. It's rare for an album where the album tracks leave a stronger impression than the singles.

Nana-san's keyboard is more of an extra. She's a lyricist first and foremost; she can play a little, so she helps out. But at recent live shows, her piano parts have become pretty important.

I really like Gane's harmonies. Is that Nana's voice, or is it Yurippe's voice layered over itself? When they perform on TV, I can't tell that Nana's singing harmony.

If you like “Mizu no Nai Hareta Umi e,” “Mikansei na Neiro,” “call my name,” “Spiral,” and “Crystal Gauge,” I'd recommend the first and second albums. If you like “Nakenai Yoru mo Nakanai Asa mo,” “Eien o Kakenukeru Isshun no Bokura,” “Bokura Dake no Mirai,” “Kimi no~Mel Heaven,” and “Sorairo no Neko,” I'd recommend the fourth and fifth. Within GIZA, I think they're one of the acts with relatively more female fans.

Compared with other GIZA women artists, both Yurippe and Nana probably appeal more to women, personality-wise.
