GARNET CROW released their first new song in seven months, “泣けない夜も　泣かない朝も,” on July 23, and will soon be releasing another new single, “君という光,” on September 10! (P.52) This series has now reached its two-year anniversary (applause!!). To mark this memorable issue, Hirohito Furui makes an appearance!

Recently, I was asked to make things such as postcards. I use photographs I have taken myself as the raw material, adjust the typeface and colors, add effects, and tweak the lighting. I have been having a lot of fun with it.

Once I started, I became completely absorbed. I work on them in the spare moments between work or just before bed, so it takes a long time to finish each one. But whenever I achieve the look I had in mind, I quietly savor the satisfaction to myself (laughs). I have also thought about drawing everything from scratch, but I have not made it that far yet.

Once you start paying attention to the details, you realize that the printer, the texture of the paper, and so on can completely change the result. It can be difficult, but that is part of the fun... I was unable to send New Year's cards this year, so I am collecting materials and thinking about making some summer greeting cards. Once I have made something I can proudly show everyone, I will officially share it (laughs).

GARNET CROW will release their new single “君という光” on September 10 (P.10). I hear they are currently working on an album. YURI NAKAMURA took a little time out of her busy schedule to join us for this column.

I heard that soy milk is good for you, so I looked around for various soy-milk products. I was surprised to find so many different kinds. Is it especially popular right now??

Soy-milk yogurt and bread are fairly easy to try. They go down easily and are quite nice. There are also soy-milk drinks that you can simply drink, but what surprised me was that there is even salad dressing made with soy milk, and soy-milk candy, too. They are certainly unusual.

Lately, though, I seem to be becoming more interested in collecting these products than in eating them. That will never do... (wry smile).
