GARNET CROW's “word scope in M.F.M.” (Vol.28)

GARNET CROW's third album has been well received. Their tour, “GARNET CROW live scope 2004 〜君という光〜,” has already been confirmed for January next year, so it seems they will soon begin rehearsals (see P.65 for details). This time, Hirohito Furui makes an appearance!

Recently, I have been redecorating my room little by little. It is not finished yet, but I work on it whenever I have some free time... One day, while reading a magazine, I suddenly felt like getting started. I have always enjoyed making things myself, so I sometimes even think that if I had the time, I would like to try renovating a house (laughs).

I have always wanted to create a space in my own home where I could enjoy sound and images—somewhere I could watch movies and check how the sound comes across. But at home, I worry about disturbing other people if I turn the volume up even a little, so it really is not easy.

The third album was released on November 12. After finishing the arrangements, I also tried listening to it repeatedly in the car and in other places from a listener's perspective, then made revisions after checking it. Surprisingly, though, the best sound quality came from the cassette player in the studio (laughs). It is really difficult to find a balance that sounds good no matter what machine you listen to it on...

So, someday I hope to create the audio-visual space that suits me best.

GARNET CROW's “word scope in M.F.M.” (Vol.29)

GARNET CROW will release their new single “僕らだけの未来” on January 14 (see P.8–9 for details). In addition, their much-anticipated tour, “GARNET CROW live scope 2004 〜君という光〜,” will begin on January 27, so the members are spending an extremely busy end of the year and start of the new one. Hitoshi Okamoto appears in the first issue of the new year!

These days, animals appear in a lot of commercials. At first, everyone is probably charmed by their heart-melting cuteness and forms a good impression, but lately some of it has gone too far. Sometimes it is even rather disturbing.

Leaving that aside, we often hear conversations like, “Are you a dog person or a cat person?” Apparently, people who like dogs have personalities like cats, while people who like cats have personalities like dogs. I have no idea who came up with that, though... Is this what they mean by being attracted to a type different from yourself?

Generally speaking, cats are free-spirited and only come over to their owners to act affectionate when they want something to eat (that is just the usual stereotype). Dogs, by contrast, are obedient and wag their tails at the mere sound of their owner's footsteps. I am one of those people who like dogs. Is my personality really like a cat's...? I suppose it is somewhere in between the two.

The weather has been cold lately, and as I write this, GARNET CROW are working hard in rehearsal for the shows. The set list is almost finalized, and everything is going smoothly. I am looking forward to visiting places and venues we have never been to before, and to seeing our fans again. Until next time.
