The eagerly awaited new single “君を飾る花を咲かそう” and concert DVD are about to be released. This time Yuri Nakamura tells us how she feels at the moment.

On June 16, the single “君を飾る花を咲かそう” and concert DVD *GARNET CROW livescope 2004 〜君という光〜* will be released.

We had plenty of time to produce this single, and I am very satisfied with the finished work. While making it, I hoped everyone would once again feel the happiness close to them and confirm that happiness with one another. I would be happy if it reminded people of what matters to them, the things they love, and the people they cherish.

As for the concert DVD, it is a live work full of happy, passionate scenes where we share music with everyone.

Looking back now, it feels as if it passed in an instant. Some people closed their eyes and listened intently, some sang along, and some listened while dancing. Everyone enjoyed the music in their own way, and I remember feeling especially happy whenever I looked out at the audience from the stage.

Please feel that passionate energy once again through this DVD.

GARNET CROW’s new single and concert DVD have both been well received. This time AZUKI Nana talks about her feelings toward summer.

It must be almost time for beaches and swimming pools to open fully, right? And inside buildings, the air conditioners are running at full power... right. Surely. I think June may be the time of year when we wear the fewest clothes.

Once July arrives, the air conditioning is too strong everywhere and turns places into refrigerators. You cannot manage without putting on several extra layers. Even if you go out in sandals, you have to carry a pair of socks in your bag. They are essential. Honestly, even mildly air-conditioned train cars are cold. When I ride the Shinkansen, I bring a scarf; it is very useful. Many indoor places turn the heat up until you feel dizzy in winter, so why do they make summer so cold? If you judge the seasons by indoor temperature alone, they are completely reversed.

A few days ago, when the plane landed at Itami Airport, the view outside gave me goosebumps. Every corner of the view was densely packed with buildings. I had thought I would see more green and land, with mountains and the sea, but perhaps because of the angle, all I could see was concrete.

All that concrete absorbs the sun’s heat, people complain that it is hot, and they turn the air conditioning up to full power. Then the outdoor units release waves of hot air... Thinking about it makes me uncomfortable.

Heat is what summer is for. It does not matter if the sun makes your skin sting; a parasol is enough, and you do not need sunscreen. I like summer that much, so this year I want to get through it without relying on air conditioning.
