GARNET CROW’s eagerly awaited new single “忘れ咲き” is confirmed for release on November 17. Guitarist Hitoshi Okamoto’s new album will also arrive on the same day. In these busy days, what has Yuri Nakamura been into lately?

Recently I have become absorbed in DVDs of comedy programs. I often watch *How Do You Like Wednesday?* and *Haneru no Tobira*, especially *How Do You Like Wednesday?*, which makes me laugh uncontrollably. Riding scooters across Vietnam or traveling around Japan according to dice rolls is simply funny. I hear the program was originally broadcast only in Hokkaido a long time ago, and while watching I mutter, “I wish I could have been a Hokkaido resident who followed it when it aired.”

I think laughter is good for your health too. It lightens the mood and releases stress. Laughing “ah-ha-ha” and “hee-hee-hee” in the middle of the night is not a very attractive sight (laughs), but at least in that moment your heart is calm and happy. Everyone should laugh wholeheartedly too, forget unpleasant and sad things, and refresh the mood.

Actually, I think GARNET CROW songs can have the same effect. “二人のロケット” and “恋することしか出来ないみたいに,” for example, should leave you feeling refreshed. Of course, they contain no comedy at all (laughs). I would also love to hear which songs everyone recommends.

GARNET CROW’s eagerly awaited new single “忘れ咲き” (see pp.6–7 for the report) and guitarist Hitoshi Okamoto’s new album (see pp.8–9) will be released at the same time. This time AZUKI Nana appears.

The four of us take turns writing this column, right? That means we must have written it in the same month last year too. Each person should write three times a year. Which round are we on now? This is November, almost the end of the year, when there will be features such as “Looking back on 2004...” Soon it will be time for “2005: this year’s...” again.

Are you good at answering short questions? I am not. I am not good at ranking things. Most of the time I do not think everything is good; I simply do not care very much. When asked something like “What is your favorite ○○?” my answer is almost always “I like everything” or “I am not interested.” I hold my head and think, “I have never considered sorting likes and dislikes into this kind of category.”

But if I leave everything blank, I do not want people to think I am being evasive, so I think very seriously for several days. Even though the question can be answered in one sentence, I spend longer on it than I spend writing lyrics for a song. If I also have to add an opinion or reason, it takes even more effort.

Conversely, sometimes a switch suddenly flips, and before I know it I have written several pages. Then I think again and try to organize it more concisely. I think and think until I no longer understand what the question meant.

Sometimes people even say, “That answer is a little too heavy; please give another one.” Yurippe answers quickly. When I am still stuck on the first question, she has already turned to the next page. It is like an exam: when you sense the person beside you answering one question after another, you begin to panic. Do you understand? I can even observe myself from outside and be surprised at how slowly my brain turns.

...So this year I will try to answer as soon as I am asked and think ahead about the various 2004 rankings. My goal is to submit my copy before the deadline. But often when I say things like that, no one asks me anything in the end.
