GARNET CROW’s eagerly awaited new single “忘れ咲き” is doing well, as is guitarist Hitoshi Okamoto’s new album. And now their eagerly awaited fourth album has also been released! Appearing for the final time this year is Hitoshi Okamoto!

The days are growing deep into autumn, with a hint of chill in the air. The year will be over soon.
The past two or three years have gone by incredibly fast. It is probably mainly because of my age and the fact that, although my daily rhythm is irregular, it is irregular in a regular way.

＊＊＊Five recent highlights＊＊＊
1. I was bitten by a mosquito. At this time of year! That was one incredibly persistent bastard.
“One last job for the mosquito coil pig this year.”
2. For the first time in my life, I blew off a dentist appointment (meaning I forgot it, skipped it without notice, and so on).
3. Winning at rock-paper-scissors by playing after seeing the other person’s hand! The Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles have joined professional baseball. I hope they become a real wild card.
4. Cabbage is expensive. I will make up for it with green juice for a while.
5. I finally got some new banknotes. I think they feel fresh and are rather nice, but people everywhere seem to agree on the standard reaction: “They look like toy money...” There is very little of the year left, so I want to keep my focus and welcome 2005.

GARNET CROW’s *word scope in M.F.M* (Vol.41)

GARNET CROW’s new album is doing well, and their eagerly awaited live tour will start soon. This time Hirohito Furui shares his thoughts about live performances.

We are currently making adjustments for the live shows. When I suddenly realized it, I thought, “Isn’t it almost time already...?”

For some reason I feel excited, but this time we have a great many plans aimed at creating a space where everyone can enjoy the shows even more. We want to create an atmosphere that cannot be experienced in everyday life.
The reason is that throughout 2004 I made a point of attending as many different artists’ live shows as possible. I tried to value the feelings of someone watching from the audience, rather than someone putting on the show. After all, at a live show, every single audience member is the star!
I used to worry about the people beside me and around me and hold myself back, but when I let myself enjoy each song—listening closely to the songs that called for it, and letting the music carry me along when it was time to get into it—I felt I could enjoy the shows in a different way than before (laughs). Thinking about it, perhaps I was the one who stood out before...

I hope you will come to a GARNET CROW concert and enjoy it in your own style, in the way that suits you best. I am looking forward to the day we can see you all!!
