GARNET CROW will release their first best album, *GARNET CROW “Best,”* on October 26. Amid a run of happy news, including the decision to release a new song, Hitoshi Okamoto talks about his recent everyday life.

The mornings and evenings have become considerably cooler, so it feels like autumn. And when you think of autumn, you think of Pacific saury.
It is one of the things that makes me glad I was born in Japan.

1. GARNET CROW is celebrating its fifth anniversary, and our first best album is coming out. Ta-da!! I am deeply grateful. I always feel that we do our best, and the contents are packed with so much that I am going to call it a “special album.”

2. The Hanshin Tigers are currently at Magic Number 11! They may have clinched it by the time this issue comes out. I can hear the abacus beads clicking for the merchants and analysts. My newly kindled enthusiasm is waiting for the festival. Oh, right—let’s drain the river while we still can!

3. The building next to my house is undergoing some very conspicuous construction. And it is an old-looking build-ing!! Hey, is this safe? Is asbestos flying around? I am worried, so I cannot even open the windows.

GARNET CROW has announced their first best album, *GARNET CROW “Best,”* and will release the new single “晴れ時計” on November 23 without taking a breather. As more and more items commemorating the fifth anniversary are announced, YURI NAKAMURA talks about her recent everyday life.

Hello, everyone. We are charging ahead in our fifth-anniversary year, and at last the ultimate fifth-anniversary item, aptly named *Best*, has been released! It is a substantial, heavy album packed with the full story of our five years (and it really is heavy—laughs). As we kept adding this and that, it became a two-disc set with a box; the booklet photo collection grew to more than 100 pages before we knew it; we inserted liner notes; we made a calendar and added some playful extras; and then we decided to hold a fifth-anniversary premium live show too. It became an album with such a long, long introduction that you cannot get through it in one breath!
And just when you might think that was the end of it, we energetic people are releasing the new single “晴れ時計” on November 23! Because it follows the best album, we went back to our roots and wanted to look at ourselves again, so we finished it with a natural sound reminiscent of early GARNET. It is an uplifting song that makes you want to take a deep breath in a clear, pleasant sky, fresh air, and wide-open nature. Please listen to it together with the best album.
By the way, depending on the store, people apparently won posters, block memo pads, can badges, and so on in an on-the-spot lottery when they bought the best album! The block memo pad is just the right, wonderfully precise size for jotting down reminders, and I use mine all the time. I also love my solo shot on Poster Type A ☆ And do not forget to enter for the live show (^_-) See you at the December live show!
