GARNET CROW’s “word scope in M.F.M” (Vol.58)

With GARNET CROW’s new single “Yume Hanabi” due for release on July 5, Hirohito Furui talks about instrumental music and what he felt while presenting the soundtrack “imagination” (available through BGV.JP／i-TUNES MUSIC STORE／mora)!

We released the soundtrack “imagination” in February, and I experienced the freedom and depth of expressing things through sound alone. I remember that instrumental music used to feel more familiar than it does now.
For example, there was the fusion genre, and in Japan there was YMO… There is tremendous power in striking out melodies on synthesizers, moving people, and even going on a world tour. Depending on how you look at it, it may indeed be true that there are no language borders and that you do not have to think as much about cultural differences in expression. I had specialized in songs with vocals, so I made all kinds of discoveries.
Please look forward to seeing how that experience will enrich my musical life from here on! (Laughs)

I think GARNET CROW’s next new song “Yume Hanabi” has turned out to be a fast-paced work with an exotic feeling. Following “Rai Rai Ya,” I hope you will enjoy another side of GARNET CROW’s appeal.

GARNET CROW’s “word scope in M.F.M” (Vol.59)

GARNET CROW have finally released their long-awaited new single “Yume Hanabi.” Yuri Nakamura talks about this release, whose jacket design received special attention.

Hello, everyone. How have you been?
The humid heat has continued day after day. Are you managing to avoid summer fatigue?
I’m startled by the heat outside and the cold in the studio, but I’m still enjoying my work on new productions.
So, our new single “Yume Hanabi” was released on July 5. Have you had a chance to listen to it yet?
I hope you can feel the beauty and transience of fragile things and fragile lives.

This time there are two editions. The First Press Edition comes in a special sleeve case with half of the CD disc visible, a very unusual case, so please pick it up and take a look. The lyric card also has a custom accordion-fold design, so opening it will be part of the fun! The case can also be displayed as a pop by slipping a can or something similar inside it, so please make good use of it. The Regular Edition uses flowers as a motif symbolizing fragile things, and has a beautiful jacket with a striking orange-and-black contrast. I like it very much too. The selection of songs is also substantial, so please give it a listen.

A new song, “Koyoi Eden no Katasumi de,” has been airing during the ending credits of “MÄR” (TV Tokyo) since July 2. Upper-tempo songs are so much fun to sing and leave me feeling energized. Be sure not to miss it. See you again!
