GARNET CROW will release their long-awaited sixth album, 『LOCKS』, on March 12!
This time, AZUKI NANA has contributed a column!!

Hello! I am appearing while ignoring the rotation.
To everyone who was expecting Okamocchi next, I am sorry.
Let me explain how this came about.
It happened in the middle of winter in the Japanese archipelago. It was an afternoon when I gazed into the distance at the news that “President Castro is to retire”…
…Though this is not really a story that calls for such an exaggerated opening.
That day, all the GARNET members were together doing one thing and another, when a staff member said, “Mr. Okamoto, please write the M.F.M. column soon.”
“What should I write about?” asked Mr. Okamoto.
“You often write about hay fever around this time of year,” said the staff member.
That is when we noticed a certain fact: twelve installments a year, divided by four.
“I greet everyone at the start of the year every year!” said YURIPPE.
“And I greet everyone at the end of the year every year,” said Furui.
So we decided to change the flow a little.
We would shuffle the order and leave a prompt for the next person each time!
The prompt could be a keyword to work with, a request to bring back a photograph, or anything else.
I am nervous about what will be thrown at me.
And so, with me going first, Okamoto-san is next. The moment that was decided, it came out!
The king of unreasonable requests said, “Okamocchi, take a picture in the same pose in front of the Glico sign!”
…After that, we spent a while competing for the spot after Furui-san, and the interview was interrupted while we searched for wickedly difficult material.
What on earth am I talking about? Well, perhaps prompts on the level of Baudelaire's anguish will emerge.
Furui-san may even be grinning to himself right now as he thinks up a troublesome prompt.
I do not know how long this will continue, but let us begin.
So, Okamocchi, “Glico” next time, please!

GARNET CROW released their long-awaited sixth album, 『LOCKS』, just last month!
This column also received a small makeover starting in the previous issue. A new relay format began, in which each person gives the next member a prompt. The prompt AZUKI NANA gave Hitoshi Okamoto this time is “Glico”! What kind of “Glico” will appear?

In this lovely, bright spring weather, I hope everyone is continuing to enjoy good health.

The other day, I visited Yokohama for the new album's promotional campaign.
I had been there several times, but this was the first time I had wandered around the area near the station, even if only for a little while, during daylight.
It is nice. I like it.
I have always been a person from western Japan, so my comparison is a local one, but it feels as though Osaka's Kita and Minami districts have been brought much closer together, doesn't it?
The streets reminded me of Kobe, while the sheer number of cram schools brought Nagoya to mind.
I have been a transfer student at heart, perhaps, and I could really feel that there was no closed-mindedness here.
The saying “Live there for three days and you are a Hamakko” is no exaggeration.

Now then, this column received a small makeover last time.
We decided that each person would “leave a prompt for the next person.”
And since the order might not proceed cyclically either, a new element has been added that reveals the members' personalities in plain sight!
People are trembling before difficult and eccentric prompts.
People are yearning for the safe position of “the person after Furui-san.”
All kinds of human drama are unfolding.
And this time, it is “Glico.”
It may look as though I handled it effortlessly.
It turned out so well that I think I will have it printed in color in the fan-club newsletter.

Furui-san is next. His first prompt will be an easy one: “cherry blossoms.” Look forward to it!
