From the questions for GARNET CROW submitted through the “GARNET CROW Fifth-Anniversary Reader Survey” announced in our August 10 issue (Vol.129), the editorial staff selected a number for the members to answer. Here are the questions and answers that caught our attention. ※This time, we selected the subjects that received the most questions, so the names of the questioners have been omitted.

●Which GARNET CROW song is your favorite, or the one that means the most to you?
There are many, including “mysterious eyes” and “夢みたあとで.” They are songs that mean a lot to me.

●If you had to represent GARNET CROW or its members with one kanji character, what would it be?
GARNET CROW → 和

●What impressions do you have of the other three members?
・Yuri Nakamura: A songstress. Naturally, she is the ace striker. She lifts the whole team.
・AZUKI Nana: She gives off a mysterious aura. A fantasista playing just behind the forwards.
・Hirohito Furui: A dependable man. The key to both defense and attack. He builds the game from deep in midfield.

●Is there another job you would like to try besides your current work?
Flying a jet.

●If you had a time machine, would you go to the past or the future? Why?
The future, so I could bring something astonishingly amazing back to the present.

●What did you dream of becoming when you were a student?
A wildly popular rock star.

●If you could become an animal, what would you be? Why?
A bird. I often dream that I am flying through the sky.

●Have you been particularly into anything lately?
Honey black vinegar.

●What is your mobile phone ringtone?
HUEY LEWIS & THE NEWS / “The Power of Love”

●What would you do if you had a month off?
Travel, go fishing, eat my way around, and watch movies to my heart's content.

●Where would you like to go if you were taking a trip?
Anywhere that is not extremely hot or cold.

●What kind of life would you like to be living ten years from now?
I would like to spend it laughing.

●Now that you have reached your fifth anniversary, is there anything you would like to take on next?
To keep making good music.

●Please tell us about any interesting episodes or unbelievable mishaps from your five years of making music.
Sometimes I create the arrangement and lyrics at the same time after listening to a demo. There have been many times when I have been surprised to see the lyrics and think, “Oh!! This might fit the feel of the backing track perfectly,” even though we had never discussed it (laughs).

●Which GARNET CROW song is your favorite, or the one that means the most to you?
I cannot put it into words in a single sentence...

●If you had to represent GARNET CROW or its members with one kanji character, what would it be?
For GARNET, perhaps “響”...

●What impressions do you have of the other three members?
・Yuri → Hardworking
・Nana → Action-oriented
・Hitoshi → A homebody

●If you had a time machine, would you go to the past or the future? Why?
Perhaps I would take a peek at the future and make some preparations (laughs).

●What did you dream of becoming when you were a student?
I dreamed of becoming a musician.

●What is your mobile phone ringtone?
The phone's internal music.

●What would you do if you had a month off?
Lately I have felt like studying all kinds of things and broadening myself as a person (laughs).

●Where would you like to go if you were taking a trip?
Anywhere I have never been is OK with me!

●What kind of life would you like to be living ten years from now?
I want to be going strong ten years from now, too!

●Now that you have reached your fifth anniversary, is there anything you would like to take on next?
I want to make even better work.
