February issue (VOL.111)　Under the theme “Let’s support GARNET CROW even more!”, M.F.M.’s original campaign [more GARNET CROW life] was launched. We created an original-design color page in connection with the Valentine’s season.

March issue (VOL.112)　LIVE REPORT [livescope 2004 ～君という光～], February 13, 2004 at Shibuya Public Hall, was published.
[more GARNET CROW life] Part 2, a color page, was published. Linked to the live show, it featured the SET LIST and photos related to the live performance in an original design.

April issue (VOL.113)　[more GARNET CROW life] Part 3, a color page, was published. We created an original-design color page using the lyrics of 「君を飾る花を咲かそう」 and the microphone used by Yuri Nakamura.
The results of the reader survey GARNET CROW Words Worth [What is your favorite phrase from a GARNET CROW song?] were published.

May issue (VOL.114)　An interview with Yuri Nakamura and AZUKI Nana about their 16th single 「君を飾る花を咲かそう」 and LIVE DVD 『GARNET CROW livescope 2004 ～君という光～』, both released June 16, was published.

●「君を飾る花を咲かそう」 is a steady song and also very much a GARNET CROW number.
Nakamura: It brings out a part we are good at as GARNET CROW, or rather, a sound that we want people to hear.

June issue (VOL.115)　A column on the LIVE DVD 『GARNET CROW livescope 2004 ～君という光～』, released June 16, was published.
The timeline [more GARNET CROW life: GARNET CROW × MFM History 1999–2004] was published.

July issue (VOL.116)　[more GARNET CROW life] Part 4, a color page, was published. It used valuable photos taken by AZUKI Nana!

September issue (VOL.118)　hills Bread Factory LIVE REPORT Vol.6 [OKAMOTO NIGHT], August 5, 2004, was published.

November issue (VOL.120)　An interview with Yuri Nakamura and AZUKI Nana about their 17th single 「忘れ咲き」, released November 17, was published.

●Nakamura’s androgynous voice suits 「忘れ咲き」 perfectly, doesn’t it?
Nakamura: There are many parts where I sing in a place that is neither too high nor too low, with a certain atmosphere and a pleasantly comfortable wavering. I think that brought out a gentler mood, a calmer mood, or the feeling that you might become kinder.

An interview about Hitoshi Okamoto’s solo album 『FF/REWIND』, released November 17, was also published.

December issue (VOL.121)　An interview with Yuri Nakamura and AZUKI Nana about their 4th album 『I’m waiting 4 you』, released December 8, was published.

●Why did you title the album 『I’m waiting 4 you』?
Nakamura: The “4” refers to the fact that it is our fourth album, that GARNET CROW has four members, and “for you.” Taken literally, the title means “I am waiting for you.” We gave it that meaning after seeing, through our live experiences, that there are people waiting for GARNET CROW. It also expresses that we need those people and that they are important to us.

●The release date is May 18, and this is your 18th single in your fifth year. Did Nakamura plan that?
Nakamura: Oh, is that so!? No, I only knew it was our first release of the year… (laughs). I see, that is easy to remember! In that sense, I did plan it (laughs).

●What feelings do the members have for this song, and what should listeners pay attention to in the recording?
Nakamura: In terms of sound, it has a natural sound that may remind you of early GARNET. Furui said that he arranged it with the feeling of returning to the beginning, if not quite returning to his original starting point.

Q: You are still working in a very natural way.
Nakamura: I want to preserve my own pace rather than break it. Over the five years, the foundation we have built has gradually grown, but I also feel that this year may be the year when, having sown the seeds, we put down solid roots and spread out. But we still have a long way to go (laughs).

Q: Is it enjoyable when a song changes form during production?
Nakamura: It is very enjoyable. In a way, I cannot stop making music because of this… In that sense, I think this work is packed with the real pleasure of creating songs. This may be difficult for listeners to sense, but for the people making it, watching a song change is extremely enjoyable, and that is one reason we cannot stop.
