● If you had to represent the ten years since your debut with a single kanji character, what would it be?

Nakamura: 幸 — happiness

Okamoto: 有 — having

Furui: 絆 — bonds

AZUKI: 駆 — running forward

● What made you happiest during these ten years?

Nakamura: Being able to meet everyone across the country during the Best Tour.

Okamoto: Being able to keep going.

Furui: Being able to keep going.

AZUKI: The first time our music became a product and was released to the world.

● What has been the hardest or most difficult thing so far?

Nakamura: The second half of this year was physically and mentally demanding because live performances and album releases overlapped.

Okamoto: Nothing in particular.

Furui: I don’t know which was the hardest (laughs).

AZUKI: The 2009 live rehearsals.

● In what way do you think you have grown compared with yourself ten years ago?

Nakamura: I think my vocal power has improved.

Okamoto: My cunning (laughs).

Furui: Perhaps my perspective has broadened?

AZUKI: I no longer think about every little thing.

● What has changed between ten years ago and now?

Nakamura: I’ve developed more nerve.

Okamoto: My body shape.

Furui: I’ve become an adult.

AZUKI: I can’t stay up all night anymore.

● Is there anything you would like to take on or do as GARNET CROW in the future?

Nakamura: Something acoustic, perhaps playing piano four hands. That sounds interesting.

Okamoto: To make the next year of activities a fulfilling one.

Furui: Steadily, little by little......

AZUKI: Creating work consistently.

● What are your ambitions for the future? (Musically and privately.)

Nakamura: Musically: I would like to perform outdoors. Privately: I would like to try living without a clock—getting up with the sunrise and going to bed when I get sleepy, a lazy life?! (laughs)

Okamoto: Musically: To continue. Privately: The switch to terrestrial digital broadcasting.

Furui: That’s a secret...... (laughs)

AZUKI: I’ll take it easy.

● Please tell us your aspirations for your eleventh year.

Nakamura: I hope it will be an eleventh year without too much pressure, the kind where I look back and think, “That year flew by before I knew it.”

Okamoto: I want to devote myself properly to creating music.

Furui: Continuity is strength, so I want to keep working steadily, as always.

AZUKI: At my own pace.

● What do you think you will be like ten years from now? Or what would you like to be like?

Nakamura: A cute older lady who loves music.

Okamoto: Improving on the inside while maintaining my appearance.

Furui: Who knows? It depends on how hard I work from here, but I want to be someone who has no regrets.

AZUKI: I want to eat delicious meals every day.

● How do you refresh yourself when you are busy?

Nakamura: Sleep. I can sleep for about twelve hours.

Okamoto: When I’m busy, I don’t even have time to refresh myself. All I can really do is eat something delicious.

Furui: I watch DVDs and let my mind unwind.

AZUKI: Drink something refreshing.

● What dishes are you good at cooking?

Nakamura: Pot-au-feu.

Okamoto: Multi udon.

Furui: None.

AZUKI: Soup.

● If Doraemon existed, which secret gadget would you want?

Nakamura: The Anywhere Door.

Okamoto: The Take-copter.

Furui: It’s a cliché, but the Anywhere Door.

AZUKI: The Anywhere Door.

● Are there any qualifications or licenses you would like to obtain?

Nakamura: A medical license.

Okamoto: A pilot’s license.

Furui: Nothing in particular for now......

AZUKI: An architect’s license.

● Where would you like to travel if you had time off?

Nakamura: A tropical country.

Okamoto: Spain.

Furui: I had wanted to go to Korea, but there are various circumstances......

AZUKI: New Zealand.

● If one wish could come true right now, what would you like to do?

Nakamura: Rent out Disneyland and spend the day there.

Okamoto: I would ask for that one wish to be increased to two.

Furui: Maybe take even one step closer to my ideal (laughs).

AZUKI: Sleep until I wake up naturally.

● If you had not pursued music, what kind of work do you think you would have done?

Nakamura: A fashion buyer. I would like to go buy clothes and accessories.

Okamoto: Making traditional crafts.

Furui: I don’t know what profession. I think I would have made an effort to do something on my own.

AZUKI: I don’t know.

● If you could take one CD to a deserted island, which CD would it be?

Nakamura: GARNET CROW’s best album!

Okamoto: I absolutely wouldn’t need a CD.

Furui: Of course, *parallel universe* (laughs).

AZUKI: I wouldn’t take one.
