This summer, is Hitoshi Okamoto building a body capable of enduring hard training? A column has arrived from the ever-spirited (?!), perhaps, Mr. Hitoshi Okamoto, who is eagerly preparing for the fan-club event!

The rainy season still hasn't ended, has it? August finally begins this weekend. The summer. At some point, the excitement of this time of year? It has dropped dramatically. I used to be bursting with a sense of freedom and anticipation.

Well, musicians are on summer vacation all year round, in a way. Or perhaps, because of their insatiable desires and challenges toward ever greater heights, summer vacation never comes... Probably both are true.

・I watched a movie on my day off and was moved → Ah, I feel like a song might come out of this!
・I encountered a magnificent view on my day off → Oh, now I feel like writing lyrics!

That means it is not a real holiday in the truest sense, is it? I only watch movies that I can basically enjoy with my mind empty. Action, shoot-'em-ups, suspense, horror, comedy. I welcome forgetting even the details by three days later!

Anyway, this year GARNET's fan-club event and tour begin in the fall, so this summer I am building a body capable of enduring hard training! Doing balance-ball exercises while watching soccer. Isn't that the most worthwhile use of time? Oh yes, the 2009–2010 La Liga season (Spain) has turned into something like a real-life video game, so I am extremely excited. Heh heh.

And next it is AZUKI's turn. How about a topic along the lines of “I cannot begin my autumn without this”? Looking forward to it.

With the long-awaited new album release, a fan-club event, and the start of a live tour, GARNET CROW has a wealth of good news—and this month AZUKI Nana takes the stage!

The other day, I had the chance to eat Tenichi's take-home ramen, the kind you make at home.
Huh!? The rich broth is surprisingly light! It's delicious!
I was stunned by how different the taste was—and thought, what do you mean, a chain restaurant?
What do you mean, take-home? I experienced the inconsistency firsthand.
There are famous foods and local specialties that only taste right when you eat them in the land, climate, weather, and culture where they belong, aren't there?
Even if you drink a watery, lukewarm beer from some beach at home alone, it is neither delicious nor fun.
Hmm, the golden carpet shimmering and swaying across the sea, made by the sinking sun...
It does not make you feel sentimental enough to think, “The final prosperity...”
Well, that is why “the real taste at home” is fundamentally impossible.
And with that said...
I am extremely excited about the autumn tour!!
To Hokkaido and Kyushu, in a season when delicious ingredients seem to march toward us! Hmm, happiness.
So,
“I cannot begin my autumn without this”
would be the feeling of becoming sentimental when the autumn wind blows. Or perhaps the cold north wind.
A breeze that makes you feel calm and melancholy reminds you that the seasons are turning and that life continues steadily onward, making you reflect on all sorts of things and look back...
Ah. This had nothing to do with food, did it?
