Thank you for reading this column. This is Hirohito Furui of GARNET CROW.
The hot days have continued. I hope everyone has been keeping well.
Because of my equipment, I usually work in a room with the air conditioning on fairly strongly,
but it took me quite a while to get used to the difference between indoors and outside (sweat).
Large temperature differences are not good for the body either, so please take care of yourselves!!

August is packed with all kinds of schedules...
I am sorry this is starting to sound like publicity, but please let me tell you about them as a report of sorts.

First, on August 4 we simultaneously released the LIVE DVD “GARNET CROW livescope 2010 ~THE BEST TOUR~” and the concept album “All Lovers.”
The DVD is packed with footage from the live tour commemorating our tenth anniversary, held in February and March, and it is a program that both those who saw the shows at the venues and those who did not should be able to enjoy.
If you have a surround system at home, please enjoy it in 5.1ch as well. Of course, we paid attention to the 2ch version too, but we also put a lot of care into the surround mix, so I hope you can experience the same sense of presence as at the live venue!!

The concept album contains 16 songs selected around the idea of “songs to give to someone important, songs you want them to hear.” Along with two rearranged songs, it also includes a new song.
There are many selections from coupling tracks, so it is an album that can be enjoyed both by people who already own everything and by people who do not own many of the singles.

And on August 26, a symphonic concert has been scheduled at Tokyo International Forum!!
This is a project in which a full orchestra collaborates with a rock/pop artist, and I feel that it will be a truly precious live experience for me personally.
I am already excited and nervous to see how GARNET's sound will actually change...

Autumn is still far away, so my sympathies to everyone enduring this cruel late-summer heat. How is everyone doing? This is Hitoshi Okamoto, and I have finally begun to tire of Garigari-kun ice pops.
Our symphonic live show ended the other day. It was a truly precious experience. It was, of course, the first time in my life I had performed with an orchestra. From the beginning of rehearsals, every day brought a problem to solve. Rare for me...
How should a fast-attacking instrument like the guitar face the broad rhythms of an orchestra, which rise and fade in comfortable, gentle waves? I realized all too well how much I usually take the easy way out (laughs).
There were also the scores for the orchestra. Symbols and words that looked like a code (sweat). Oh! Hmm, I probably saw them in music class when I was in elementary school. I looked things up online and studied them.
So I was more focused!? on the performance itself than usual. There were always new discoveries, and the recital-like aspect, different from our usual live shows, was fresh and genuinely fun. If possible, I would have liked to hear the sound of the actual performance from the audience seats.
Now, in September we will also have our first event live. It will feature several artists from across label boundaries. The event itself is also being held for the first time this year.
And apparently GARNET is last on the bill.
Wow, that is a serious responsibility (laughs).
