A late reply, but if it were just Yurippe and Nana, they'd remind me a little of MANISH (two women who used to be on Being's roster and wrote their own lyrics and music), and feel like a second-rate copy. So I think four members is fine... I feel like the two women stand out because of that balance where the guys are treated a little unfairly.

Why does Nana write lyrics that are hard for Yurippe to sing? For example: In “Yuzuki Yoru,” “dokodemo tooku e” (“farther and farther away”) sounds like “dokodemo toukei” (“statistics everywhere”). In “Kakurenbo,” the “desu ka” in “mada inoru tsumori desu ka?” (“are you still going to pray?”) is too fast. In “wonder land,” “toke-konde yuku” (“blending in”) sounds like “toke-konde Q.”

I started with *BEST*, too, and at first I thought every track was a single. That's how great the album's quality and track order are.

They said in an interview once that they don't lower the quality of a song just because it's a B-side. Since it's something they're giving to listeners, they put everything into making it, whether it's the title track or a B-side. I thought that was impressive.

Pronouncing the “u” vowel makes you close your throat, and this is a part where the melody jumps almost an octave. With Yurippe's clear, airy way of singing, she keeps the back of her mouth as open as possible, so it's difficult. That's my serious answer. Just testing. I don't know about the other parts, though. Anyway, it's cute, so I think she should keep singing it that way.

Akiko Nakamura was known as a singer for her husky, low voice, so that's another way she resembles Yuri-san. That really dates me. lol

Not many people say “Kimi to Iu Hikari” is their favorite, but it's in my top five. It's an underrated gem, in a way.

They're a band that loves making ballads. They already have standards like “Yume Mita Ato de” and “Holy ground,” so if they played it live, the setlist would end up full of ballads. In that sense, “Kimi wo Kazaru Hana wo Sakasou” tends to get overlooked, too.

Nana-san has so many different sides: a girl, a boy, an older sister, a little devil... the list goes on. It's amazing, especially since she wears so little makeup. Personally, I would've preferred Yurippe to write the lyrics and music, with Nana-san on vocals. She has a great figure, and looks beautiful when she's singing. Yurippe is just an ordinary person who looks cute when she's dressed up. Well, can't be helped. lol

If GARNET had made its debut in Tokyo, it would've become a much classier band. Furui-san might've made a name for himself as a top arranger. Mochi might've appeared on TV and music shows more often and established himself. Yurippe might've become an undisputed star as a beautiful vocalist. Nana-san might've been celebrated as a uniquely beautiful lyricist. But because they debuted in thoroughly Osaka, they sank into Otafuku sauce and turned into dark-skinned old ladies. Even if they talk about Iggy Pop or David Foster, it just comes off like, “What are you putting on airs for, old man?” Osaka people are made of flour and tempura scraps, after all. What a shame!

It's true that GARNET CROW has a kind of Kansai-local feel... somehow. I'm from Kanto, and it feels like their recognition and reputation here are too low for how talented they are. What a waste! But if the old guy had been working nonstop arranging songs for mysterious new artists, Yurippe had been given awkward lines in commercials and minor TV-drama roles, Nana-san had been swamped with magazine covers in trendy fashion magazines, and Mochi had his own TV show and got pushed around by all kinds of guests until he lost touch with ordinary people, then after a few years they might've released cover albums and disappeared without a trace, or been so worn out they became expressionless. If that's the alternative, I'm happy with things as they are.

Is Mochi from Mie? I thought he was from Hyogo because he once said his family sent him Akashi octopus wasabi from home.

I just listened to them. South America << “Sekai” << “Kanata.” I don't really understand the lyrics to “Argentina,” and the chorus repeats the same phrase, so after two listens I've had my fill. “Kanata,” on the other hand, has nostalgic, breezy music and lyrics where every line pierces your heart. Here's a quick report on *Sunny Side Balcony*. Later! Yurippe came on around 12:08 and stayed for about 30 minutes. They talked about the year's activities. She said it had been a year of relaxing and trying all kinds of things. About the fan-club event for their seventh anniversary: Apparently Yurippe brought along the Kintaro candy they'd handed out to fans at the event, and she and DJ Mori had a lively conversation about it. lol They chose candy because physical keepsakes are nice, but even if it doesn't last, they hoped it would become a memory through its taste... “Namida no Yesterday”: She said they played around with it: the cover imitated the Beatles, and the PV was styled after *The Ed Sullivan Show*. “Sekai wa Mawaru to Iu keredo”: Usually she writes the melody first and then thinks about the drums, but for this song she listened to a drum loop and built the melody over it—the drums came first. They quickly decided to include “Kanata made Hikari wo” as the B-side, but apparently debated whether to put “Argentina” on this single. For the rest of the year, she said they were planning surprise appearances on radio. Yurippe wants to appear on *PASTIME PARADAISE* next week, and they're working out the schedule. Maybe all the members will get together next month.

Inao wasn't even that great a player. In his first year, he joined Nishitetsu for a signing bonus far smaller than his teammate Hata's. The A-side was god-tier this time, but the B-sides were kind of so-so. Both songs are solid, so I might've been satisfied if they were just album tracks. Personally, I wanted something rough around the edges—experimental and challenging.

The A-side is good. The B-side has a similar feel, but the key changes sound forced. You can hear them pushing it.

Yay, Nana-san's diary! I'm so happy! As you'd expect from a lyricist, she writes with such a sense of humor! It's fun. I'm listening to the CD I bought yesterday. I'd been listening closely to “Sekai,” and it's a good song. “Kanata made Hikari wo” somehow gave me the feeling that Nana-san is still carrying feelings from a past relationship. It made me a little jealous. The lyrics of “Argentina”—or rather, the way she plays with the sounds—is so skillful. She's such an intelligent person. I knew it! I like the way Yurippe sings, too!

At last, on the 15th—or rather, as midnight passed on the 14th—the men head out to hunt! With their hunting dogs... in search of prey...!
