GARNET CROW's new single “Kimi no Omoi Egaita Yume Atsumeru HEAVEN” will be released on May 18. The song is currently airing as the opening theme for the TV Tokyo anime “MÄR” (every Sunday, 10:00–10:30 a.m.). This time, Hitoshi Okamoto takes the stage.

The spring sunshine is gentle and the weather is beautiful. How is everyone doing?
iPods and influenza are spreading among the people around me.
I do not need an iPod because I do not listen to music while traveling, but at last I am starting to want one.
If I catch influenza now, I will go straight to the hospital.

★★★★★ Five things I have not done in ages ★★★★★

1. “Bowling.” I want to keep throwing until I cannot even hold chopsticks anymore.
2. “Hay fever medicine.” Maybe my constitution changed as I got older. Despite all the warnings, this year's pollen caused me no trouble at all.
3. “Changing phones.” Lately I have been charging my mobile phone every day. Rather than delicate new features, I wish they would develop an incredibly tough battery.
4. “Gyudon.” I have not eaten it. I miss that old flavor, not the current version. I heard on the news that the companies connected with gyudon are joining forces. If they standardize the menus too, it will all be over.
5. “Health checkup.” A flash of inspiration, musical sense, a hook. But for a musician, what is needed most is the physical stamina to build those things into a song lasting several minutes.

GARNET CROW's “word scope in M.F.M.” (Vol.45)

GARNET CROW will release the new single “Kimi no Omoi Egaita Yume Atsumeru HEAVEN” on May 18. This time, Hirohito Furui takes the stage.

Because our 18th single “Kimi no Omoi Egaita Yume Atsumeru HEAVEN” is the opening theme for the TV Tokyo anime “MÄR,” I began working on it after first understanding the story and its characters. I tried to see whether I could create a piece that matched the different ideas at work in it.
That included the momentum of the sound, the approaches to the instruments, the opening sound effects, and so on.
These days there are many animations aimed at all ages, and the quality of their opening songs is also strongly scrutinized. I wanted to express the value of GARNET CROW being chosen for this project.
Every story has a theme or a message, and I think the same is true of dramas and films. I believe they play an important role in helping us learn something. It may be easier to understand if you think back to when you were a child: scenes and stories you saw back then remain in your memories.
Music is the same. I strongly feel that it plays a very important role because those generations are listening too.
I would also love to see more people aspire to become musicians because of GARNET CROW, and I hope we can continue making sounds that many people, regardless of age or gender, will want to hear (laughs).
