GARNET CROW is expected to make an even bigger impact in 2007. This time, AZUKI Nana takes the stage!
She tells us how the members themselves selected the winners of a CD single giveaway!

Have you ever won a prize in a giveaway?
I have, from time to time. That was mostly when I was a child, though, so perhaps many of them were giveaways where everyone who entered received a gift.
I was always very curious about how the winners were chosen.
You often see the words “winners will be selected by a strict and impartial drawing,” right? Well, I finally found out what one of those drawings is actually like! It may not be much help as a reference, though…
There was a campaign called “Buy a GARNET CROW single and enter!” There were four kinds of prizes. Um, each one had been selected by one of the four members, so we thought: if we’re doing a drawing anyway, why not have each member do one? And so…
Thank you so much for all the entries. We also enjoyed reading your comments about the releases.
As for the drawing, Hiroto Furui and Hitoshi Okamoto first read the messages carefully. They gave the Furui selection to people who had written things like, “I’m completely exhausted and need some peace and quiet,” and the Okamoto selection to people who had made it clear that they really needed an item to “play guitar as much as possible.”
The Nakamura selection was based on age groups, with several people chosen from each group.
For the AZUKI selection, we put the postcards in a cardboard box and drew them like lottery tickets.
I had always wanted to try that. It was fun!

As 2007 began, new release news came flying in for GARNET CROW.
This time, Hitoshi Okamoto takes the stage! What are Okamoto's top three first-time experiences of 2006…?!

This happened at the end of last year: there was a mosquito in my house even though it was already mid-December.
It was a tenacious little thing that was completely out of season, but strangely enough it never came to bite me. I wondered where it was coming from and whether there was something abnormal about my house, so I looked it up online and found out that the “Culex pipiens molestus,” a mosquito that is resistant to low temperatures and stays active through the winter, has apparently been increasing in recent years.
Even when it's a little anemic, it keeps going, huh?

⇒ My top three first-time experiences of 2006

◆No. 3: Online auctions (probably my first time was last year)

There was someone listing nothing but incredibly rare equipment. When I won an auction and asked them about various things, I learned that they apparently spend their days overseas buying up all kinds of unusual items. Sounds interesting.

◆No. 2: Resident Evil 4

I know it's late, but it was my first Resident Evil game. I happened to enter an Internet café while waiting for the first train, and happened to pick it up… Damn it! I-it's way too much fun!

◆No. 1: Ukon no Chikara

Resetting my liver in preparation for emergencies. I do feel like it works. Maybe because I only drink it once in a while. It doesn't feel all that chemical, and it's nice that it doesn't make me feel too guilty.
