GARNET CROW's “word scope in M.F.M” (Vol.72)

During its seventh summer, GARNET CROW held fan events and strengthened its connections with fans by meeting them at closer range!! The group now seems to be working on its next recording! While we wait eagerly for news about the new songs, this month we present AZUKI Nana’s column.

Whenever summer comes, I wonder: why are there only three edamame beans in a pod?
Why does an eggplant wrap its white flesh in such a deep purple skin?
Why are pumpkins green and orange? Why is a watermelon…
The endless questions about summer crops remain unanswered this year, and now autumn is almost here.
I used to think that having four seasons made this such an emotionally rich and beautiful island,
but lately the pace has felt a little too dizzying and bothersome.
I find myself asking the seasons whether they could slow down a little.
Could the serious, conscientious nature of Japanese people
also be encouraged by this dizzying climate?
The other day, a visitor to Japan said, “Even eight-year-old children in Japan have schedules, huh?”
It gave me a start!
How bittersweet…
Well, this is a season when all five senses become especially sharp, and there is no end to the things that catch my interest,
but this year I think I’ll calm down a little and soothe my nerves.
To savor autumn at an easy pace, as if sleeping peacefully. Yes. That sounds good!

GARNET CROW's “word scope in M.F.M” (Vol.73)

YURI NAKAMURA made a guest appearance at the ZARD memorial live “What a beautiful memory,” held at Osaka Festival Hall on September 6 and 7 and at Nippon Budokan on September 14. As on the tour three years earlier, Hiroto Furui and Hitoshi Okamoto also participated as touring members. In between those commitments, the group worked on its new release, and this month Furui contributes a message.

We have decided to release “Sekai wa Mawaru to Iu Keredo,” GARNET CROW’s 26th single overall, on November 14, and I’m already looking forward to its release.
This release is a ballad overflowing with everything that makes GARNET CROW what it is!! Perhaps because it is the ending theme for “Detective Conan,” it somehow reminded me of the time when we released “Yume Mita Ato de.” Maybe because we’ve had many opportunities to provide songs for anime tie-ins, the age range of the people who support us has broadened recently, from elementary school students to seniors, and that makes us truly happy. If GARNET CROW could play some important role in the process of those younger listeners growing up, just as the artists and groups I was influenced by as a child did for me, that would make me very happy…

We have also decided to hold a live show at Ninna-ji in Kyoto on October 20.
I hope we can spend a precious, memorable time with many of you.
