It has been cold every day lately. How have you all been?
I hope you have been keeping well.
As for me, I am the very energetic Yurippe!
Still, in a season this cold, it is nice to drink some warm tea
and warm both your body and your heart, isn't it?
Recently I have become hooked on Chinese tea.
Of course there is pu-erh tea and oolong tea,
and with the pollen season coming up, teas such as tiencha and Dong Ding oolong sound good too.
Among Chinese teas, I am currently especially into teas called blooming teas.
When you pour in hot water, the leaves slowly unfurl like a flower;
they really are works of art in tea form.
They smell wonderful and are fun to look at,
so you might say they are teas that taste twice as good.
My favorite is tea with jasmine in it.
It has such a lovely fragrance and helps me relax, so I recommend it.
Next I would like to become more particular about my teaware.
I want to make my relaxing tea time more satisfying
and find good ways to release stress.

There have been more warm days lately, and I can feel the seasons changing.
Hello. This is Nana AZUKI.
Did you make it through the winter without catching a cold?
People often say that winter and the changes between seasons are when we are most likely to get sick,
but when I was worn out last June because cold-like symptoms would not go away for a whole month,
the internal-medicine doctor told me, “June has twice as many patients as winter! It is the busiest time of the year.”
I never had that impression.
I wonder if it is because all those things—feeling unwell when the trees begin to bud, the May blues, and summer fatigue—are compressed together?
I had imagined it as a season overflowing with vitality:
warm spring arriving, maintaining a gently comfortable humidity,
and then heading into the height of summer.
Hmm? Maybe the humidity is the problem? Dampness? Lethargy? Unable to disinfect without the sun?
Ah. Right. I bought something called Cleverin for the first time last year.
I went to a pharmacy intending to buy a mask after the shop lady energetically told me,
“It removes viruses from the air just by leaving it there! It even gets rid of mutans bacteria in the kitchen! This is twice as good!”
I thought, “Wow—if I have that, will my home become a sterile room?” and felt oddly reassured.
At the register she said, “Unlike the old one, this new one really works!”
Even after subtracting a little doubt and anxiety, it still felt reassuring… right?
Well, I suppose it must have worked incredibly well.
The moment I left home for a while, I caught a cold?! I had a high fever for three full days and nights…
Hmm. Should I build a body that gets used to viruses and bacteria by being exposed to them,
so I can become accustomed to toxins and overcome them?
Or should I shut out all germs and keep myself in a safe place?
I cannot decide, with June approaching.
