and to everyone who continues to endure the pain of this devastating disaster,
please accept our heartfelt sympathies. We continue to pray that you will be able to overcome it.

Recently, now that the weather has warmed up, I, Yurippe, have wanted to move my body,
so I have been trying bowling and badminton for the first time in a while.
I have especially gotten hooked on bowling and go whenever I can find the time.
At first, my arm would feel tired and it was pretty tough after one game,
but after keeping at it, I can now bowl six games in a row.
If I bowl any more than that, my grip starts to give out, though.
I have also gotten to the point where I can score one strike per game.
The other day, I even got two strikes in a row and was incredibly excited!
“Now I am going for three in a row!”
But when I got greedy and threw the third ball, it went into the gutter ↓
People should not get greedy.
From now on I will work toward three consecutive strikes—a turkey! (laughs)

On June 29, our first single of the year and two live DVDs are scheduled for release.
“Smiley Nation.”
I hope this song will bring smiles and happy feelings to people throughout Japan and throughout the world.
May the day when we can laugh wholeheartedly, feel healed, and find peace arrive as soon as possible.

Have you ever fasted?
It seems to become a chain trend among people around me from time to time,
and recently I was invited again: “Want to go on a two-night, three-day fasting trip?”
My immediate answer was NO! Absolutely not!
Apparently, as with yoga and marathon running, once you experience the pleasant feeling afterward in your body,
you become a repeat customer with fairly high probability.
But I have a physical reaction against being forbidden to do something according to a method,
even before I start.
“You must not eat” sounds painful… It sounds so difficult.
For the record, I cannot do marathons either.
I enjoy things like yoga that work on the parasympathetic nervous system,
but exercise that stimulates the sympathetic nervous system does not seem to suit me very well.
Just watching a triathlon makes my heart race.
…And yet, when I see the satisfied, comfortable, open expressions on my friends' faces after they return from fasting,
there is more than just the satisfaction of having accomplished something.
There is a calm sense of happiness floating around them,
and it has a power that makes me think, “Huh? What is there?”—stronger than any clumsy sales pitch.
When I do yoga with them, the fasting group is clearly lighter in “ki” (prana, that is),
while I myself feel heavy and gloomy.
Come to think of it, maybe it is because it is the rainy season? My body does feel heavy.
It seems that changes in atmospheric pressure on rainy days make it easy to sleep well.
This year we really did have a run of rainy days that felt like the rainy season.
Did you all sleep well?
Once the rainy season ends, the temperature will shoot up and summer will be in full swing.
